Principles of Calabash - Shekere Trio

The beaded, open gourd is fun and challenging to play, integrating both subtle and vigorous body movements.  This trio version of the original 9-player Principles of Calabash is shorter and more dense, utilizing 3 large shekeres, 2 axaste gourd shekeres, dun-dun with pedal, gankogui (African double bell), gajate (pedal) with LP jam block.  Sections include: Trio, Swirls, Ewe, Commercial Style, Toss Duet, Afro-Cuban Trio, and Coda.

Also, there is a series of exercises and studies (13 pages) available in the Shekere Basics - General Studies file (bottom of page).
