Steve Hemphill is Professor Emeritus of Percussion at Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff, Arizona. 
A longstanding percussionist and timpanist, performer, teacher, clinician, composer, arranger, and conductor, ​Hemphill joined NAU in 1991 and retired in 2022.



​​"Freshmen - Collegiate Musical Studies" is a hypothetical freshman course* designed as an inaugural collection of topics to establish a baseline of musical knowledge and to enhance student engagement across academic and performance domains in support of all studios, classrooms, and ensembles – a comprehensive introduction to help freshmen navigate and optimize their collegiate experience. "Preparing - College Teaching" offers a text in support of preparations for teaching percussion at the university level.

"Game-Teaching" contains a collection of percussion-related challenges, puzzles, & humor – an entertainment-based diversion.

"Music Awards" comprise numerous lists of awards, prizes, and recognitions in music – an informative encounter with current events and history.

"Auxiliary Percussion" offers 3 etudes and 8 brief handouts for concert bass drum, crash & suspended cymbals, tambourine, triangle, wood block, tam-tam, and castanets.

"Percussion Music & Videos" offers free downloads (parts & scores - quartets, trios, duet, solo), along with various exercises - marimba, vibes, timpani, pandeiro, caxixi, 
​     shekere, brushes, auxiliary percussion.
